New Free Lottery App - Design Discussion

Hi All

I know a lot of you played free lotteries over the years.
I even ran one myself some time back, a simple website.

I'm now a much better developer and skilled with apps, both Android and iOS. I also now have better connections for decent advertising and better advertising rates. As such I can and will make a new Free Lottery App, for UK users only.

I'm here to ask for your help to make it something you would want to use and/or be happy to promote.

Firstly I'm likely to call it "Free Draw UK" - please let me know your thoughts on the name.

We will have video and other ad formats that allow you to get tickets. Limited on how many you can do per day. With a weekly draw, to allow the prize money to be decent, but not too long of a wait to see if you've won.

No need to claim the prize, if you win you win, we will send you a digital prepaid creditcard straight to your email.

Things that need the most feedback are your thoughts on how referrals should be handled:
1. Should referral perks be ongoing or only for a limited period to get the app going?
2. Should referrals earn you and you referral extra tickets?
3. Should referrals not earn you or them tickets, should they increase the prize pool instead?
4. Should there be a limit to each persons referral perks to keep it fair for those who cannot refer so easily as others.
5. Anything i've not mentioned you'd like to say?

Other considerations.
1. Is in app chat between users something you would want?
2. Would you want other activities within the app to keep you more entertained or is a quick login, do some adverts and go the preferred way?

2. Yes, but put a limit on it and you still have to click ads to get those tickets, otherwise you will have a lot of users there just referring and claiming tickets without earning you any ad revenue for the pot. Also you need to make sure you dont end up with bots referring more bots.

2. Yes. I think people will need reasons to want to keep going back. What about a daily quiz or puzzle to complete and they get a free entry if they solve it?

What will your prize structure be? Lots of small prizes or a couple of bigger ones?

How will people know the draw is fair?

There are a ton of these sorts of things out there already so it will be hard to get a new one started and make it stand out from the crowd but Good luck.

We have some solid ad partners we already work with, I'm confident we can get better revenue than existing apps. To start with we will do 1 big prize per week, then as it grows we will add extra smaller prizes.

Vouchers are a great suggestion, we could possibly even give you the winners the choice of how to receive your prizes.

We've discussed this more as a team and we believe we have the right solution now. Please let me know what you think of the following:

Referring someone will mean that you win the same prize as your referral.
This means that having lots of referrals does not effect anyone elses chances of winning.
Whilst increasing your chances of getting a prize.
To motivate the referral using your code we could give them X tickets when registering with a referral code.

1. fair enough, that makes my life easier, but could be added later if people request it.
2. I will think on this more.

How will people know the draw is fair?

All a question of what you deem to be enough transparency.
1. We could show a table of top X players and how many tickets they have.
2. We could show a table record of past winners
3. We could add a testimonial section for winners to post regarding their wins.
What information would you want, to be able to judge whether you think the draw is fair or not?

Development Update


This is coming along nicely now. The core app is done, currently being reviewed by Google Play and will be tested by some of our loyal game players.


Once through Google Play review you will be able to register and login to a pre-launch screen to get your referral id.
You will then be able to start getting referrals whilst we work on getting through Apple Review. We will also share socials.

Once we know how things are with Apple we will set a launch date and the date/time of the first draw.
