Hi everyone. I joined last night after lurking for a few days. Signed up to PA last night and placed my first bet. Started off quite conservatively and have just used £20 (£10 to sign up to stab james and £10 to betfair). I already had accounts with coral and betfred so couldn't take advantage of their offers :( my first bet should make a loss of £0.78 but hoping to gain on the free bet. We're moving house in a few months so my aim is to be able to have a Christmas pot for my little man as moving in November means money Will be tight. Wish me luck!!!

Woohoo

You should have made a few grand by the time you move in November so hopefully that will help you out :)

Good luck with the MB! I started mine 10 days ago and I'm approaching £200 profit even after messing up one bet and one bookie being a pain in the behind. It's slow work so far but worth it!

Welcome. I'm new to MBing too. I placed my first bet on 24th July (a day that will hopefully go down in history as the start of a successful journey). I had to stop for two weeks earlier this month whilst I was away on holiday but back on it now. This bunch are fabulous and you can come to them with any questions. Good luck :)

Ok so, £10 to sign up to Stan James, £15 to bet fair to cover the lay bet and the amount needed as the liability. So a total of £25. Placed a bet on Leicester to win, layed it off on betfair for £10.04. For some reason I had a panic and cashed out on Betfair at £9.96 and then Leicester went on to win so on my qualifying bet I have somehow made a profit of £9.09?!?!

Don't use cashout when matched betting

All calculations are based on the game / race etc ending naturally

Hit post too early there

It's risk free as long as you let tbings Pan out, it doesn't matter if your bet wins at the bookie or the exchange it's still risk free either way :)

Have just placed my first free bet. Will be a profit of £13.04. Also just opened a new account so that I can use that rather than my main one so I don't look like I have an issue lol
Hi Becky - I hope you mean bank account and not bookie account. If you have multiple bookie accounts then they might shut you down.

As Jon said above, let the maths do the work. You never need to cash out with Matched betting. You were lucky this time but next time, you may not be. I recommend you watch the PA videos again as its an important part of MB. In fact, the less you know about sports/betting the better as you aren't tempted to cash out as 'x' is a dead cert.

I've only ever cashed out one bet and that was when I accidentally backed Udinese at both the bookie and Betfair. Realised with about 15 minutes to play and they were losing 1-0 so cashed out my betfair one for pennies. Was going to make a loss anyway.

The villa match is currently playing, which is the match i have my bet on that I placed the other day with my free bet. I have logged out of my Betfair account so I can't cash out like last time :)

Won at the bookies so have placed a mug bet and withdrew the rest. Will now have to wait for it to clear and then deposit it into the exchange :/

Winnings now deposited in the exchange and next bet placed. This will be the third bet not including the mug bet and will have profit of £18 in total over the 3 bets. Only started with £25 and not putting any extra in to get the larger liability so slow and steady :)

So 2nd weekend in and am at £45 profit. Had to put more into Betfair to cover liability on the larger bets :)

That's great :) It's all progress so it's all building up your pot slowly but surely!

So just shy of a month doing matched betting and am at £120 profit. I am taking it very slowly doing it just on my one day off a week, and only when my little man is asleep (which is not very often! Lol). Happy with how it's going though. I have the week off work this week so I'm hoping to do a t least another 4 offers and add a bit more to my pot.

That's great progress! Doesn't matter how quick you go £120 profit is still profit!!!
I fit MB around other commitments too and that's one of the benefits of it, it can be completely flexible :) enjoy the money!
